1 - 16 ounce JUMBO Bottle of Novacan BLACK Patina
The Novacan BLACK Patina is the perfect solution for transforming silver solder into a beautiful black color. This 16 oz jumbo bottle provides excellent coverage and is easy to apply with the right technique. For the best results, follow these steps:
- After soldering, wipe the finished solder with 0000 (super fine) steel wool.
- Clean the surface with a non-ammonium cleaner (avoid glass or window cleaners). A spray bottle filled with inexpensive alcohol or a specialized flux remover like CJ's or KwikClean works well.
- Apply the black patina using a CLEAN acid/flux brush.
- Clean the surface again.
- Finish off with a metal polish, car wax, or Clarity Finishing Compound to shine and protect your solder.
For an Antique Finish, after following the steps above, lightly go over the solder again with super fine steel wool to lighten the black patina. Clean once more, and alternate between these steps to create a rich, antique look that enhances your stained glass projects.
