This NOVACAN 2-Bottle Chemicals Combo Pack is a great way to easily change silver-colored solder to either a stunning copper or black finish. Whether you’re working on stained glass, metal art, or jewelry, these patinas are perfect for adding depth and contrast to your projects. For best results, follow these steps:

1. After soldering, wipe the finished solder with 0000 (super fine) steel wool.
2. Clean the surface with a non-ammonium cleaner (avoid glass or window cleaners). You can use a spray bottle filled with inexpensive alcohol or a flux remover.
3. Apply the patina with a clean acid/flux brush.
4. Clean the surface again to remove excess.
5. Finish off with a metal polish, car wax, or a specialized finishing compound to shine and protect the patina-altered solder.

For an Antique Look:
To achieve a beautiful antique finish, use both Black and Copper Patina. After soldering, steel wool the solder with 0000 super fine wool, clean it, and apply black patina with a clean acid/flux brush. Next, go over the solder again with steel wool to lighten the black patina, clean once more, and then apply copper patina. This back-and-forth process will give your project a stunning, vintage look.
