Glazing Cement Putty (16 oz)
- Pre-mixed dark grey putty for weatherproofing and strengthening leaded, zinc, or brass stained glass panels.
- Key Use: Waterproofs and adds durability to your glass panels.
-
Glass Pro Whiting Powder (1/2 lb)
- A cleaning agent designed to remove residue after cementing.
- How to Use: Sprinkle over the glass panel and gently rub with a soft cloth or brush to clean and polish the surface.
-
Curved Fid (Lathekin)
- Multi-purpose tool for opening lead or metal came channels and cleaning excess cement.
- Key Feature: The pointed end is ideal for detailed work around lead or metal channels.
-
Glazing Brush
- Designed for applying whiting powder and cleaning up excess cement.
- Key Use: Use in circular motions to clean and burnish the lead cames and polish the glass.
Step-by-Step Glazing Process:
- Apply the Glazing Cement Putty to both sides of the panel to secure and seal the glass pieces.
- Sprinkle Whiting Powder over the panel and use the Glazing Brush in a circular motion to clean excess cement from the glass and lead cames.
- Use the Curved Fid to pick away any remaining cement around the edges of the glass and cames.
- Allow the cement to set for a few hours, but no longer than 24 hours. After cleaning both sides, let the panel dry for at least 48 hours before moving.
Note: Regularly clean excess cement as it dries to avoid difficulty later.
